To assist in the efforts for the opening of York Region’s first emergency and transitional housing facility for single women without a home, Belinda's Place, a donation guidebook was created for a fundraising drive held at Upper Canada Mall in Newmarket. With 28 emergency beds and nine transitional units, Belinda’s Place is York Region’s first multi-service home for women that are single and homeless. Belinda’s Place is much more than a safe place to stay, it also provides help for women so they can transition back to independence. This support is provided to women who are using Belinda’s Place for emergency housing and for those who are using its drop-in service.
